A senior management transition has taken place at İstanbul Varlık Yönetim A.Ş., a subsidiary of ÜNLÜ & Co. Tahir Selçuk Tuncalı, who has served as General Manager of İstanbul Varlık for many years, has handed over the role to Sema Argın. Tuncalı will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.
A senior management transition has taken place at İstanbul Varlık Yönetim A.Ş., a subsidiary of ÜNLÜ & Co, one of Türkiye’s leading investment services and asset management groups. Tahir Selçuk Tuncalı, who has served as the company’s General Manager for many years, has handed over the role to Sema Argın, while continuing to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.
Sema Argın, who most recently served as Managing Director responsible for Finance and Investments at İstanbul Varlık, has been appointed as the company’s new General Manager. Her appointment to the Board of Directors will take place following the next General Assembly meeting. In her new role, Argın will focus on further strengthening the company’s robust operational capabilities in non-performing loan management, technology-enabled monitoring systems and customer-oriented approach to developing solutions.
With nearly 30 years of experience in banking and finance, Sema Argın holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Marmara University’s English-language programme. She completed an MBA at the State University of New York and a master’s degree in organizational psychology at Istanbul Bilgi University. Argın began her career at Yapı Kredi Bank and has worked within ÜNLÜ & Co for the past 20 years. Having held senior management positions in non-performing loan management since the establishment of this business line at ÜNLÜ & Co, Argın has played an active role in shaping İstanbul Varlık Yönetim A.Ş.’s growth strategy, portfolio investments and operational transformation processes.
