Wellcome Trust Invests in ÜNLÜ & Co
Wellcome Trust, the second highest-spending charitable foundation worldwide, becomes partners with ÜNLÜ & Co, the leading investment banking services and asset management group in Turkey
Wellcome Trust, one of the largest charitable foundations worldwide, becomes investor in ÜNLÜ & Co, Turkey’s leading investment banking services and asset management group. According to the agreement, Wellcome Trust will invest 17.7 million US dollars in exchange for 9.9% of ÜNLÜ & Co’s shares through a capital increase.
Funds created through the share sales will support new investments
ÜNLÜ & Co’s Chairman Mahmut L. Ünlü stated that they are pleased to further develop the partnership with Wellcome Trust, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious foundations. Wellcome Trust donates more than 800 million pounds each year with the aim of supporting developments in the health sector worldwide. Ünlü pointed out that the partnership will solidify ÜNLÜ & Co’s capital strength and concluded: “. Through a stronger capital structure, ÜNLÜ & Co will be able to realize its growth plans and new investments in the upcoming period.”
Transaction values ÜNLÜ & Co at 179 million US dollars after the capital increase.
